Spartanburg, S.C. – Former USC Upstate softball player Shellie Robinson was recognized by the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) League earlier this week at the annual NPF Awards Banquet in Baton Rouge, La.
Robinson was named as an At-Large selection to the All-NPF Team along with teammate A.J. Andrews.
Robinson posted a career-year for the Akron Racers in 2017, excelling in her third season and surpassing many of her career-highs, including doubling her home run total with eight. Her .297 batting average, .321 on-base percentage and .531 slugging percentage were also her career-highs. Robinson also set new career-bests in hits (38), runs (21), RBI (30) and stolen bases (6).
The DeLand, Fla. native finished tied for fifth in the NPF in RBI, and seventh in both home runs and slugging percentage this season. Robinson led the Racers in RBI and slugging percentage.
