
Upstate Concludes Three-Match Road Trip Wednesday versus Presbyterian College

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team finishes a three-match road trip to open its season on Wednesday evening when it makes the short trip to Clinton for a 7 p.m. contest against the Presbyterian College Blue Hose from Edens Field at Martin Stadium.
The Spartans are coming off a 2-0 defeat at Georgia State on Sunday evening in Atlanta. Georgia State scored twice in the first half to record the two-goal victory. Cam Philpot attempted a team-high two shots for Upstate, while Sebastian Quinteros and Florian Langenegger took one apiece. Santiago Restrepo concluded the match with two saves.
The Spartans held a 3-1 advantage over Georgia State in corner kicks and also led 2-1 in saves.
Presbyterian College dropped its season opener on Saturday with a 2-1 loss at Davidson. The Blue Hose are under the direction of second-year head coach Jonathan Potter.
Upstate will be meeting Presbyterian College for the 29th time in program history in a series that dates back to the 1980 season. The Spartans lead the all-time series 19-6-3 including a 6-2-1 mark since moving to Division I. Upstate scored a 1-0 season-opening victory over the Blue Hose last year in Spartanburg.
