
Upstate Hosts Crosstown Rival Wofford on Friday Night

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team will look to win its third consecutive game on Friday night as the Spartans welcome Wofford to County University Soccer Stadium for a 6 p.m. contest.
The first 100 USC Upstate students in attendance will receive a free Upstate athletics t-shirt. In addition, the Upstate Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be collecting donations for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Fans are encouraged to place their donations into the collection jars as they enter the stadium.
Upstate is 2-2 following a 4-2 defeat of Hampton last Friday. Emma Honis scored the first two goals of the match for the Spartans, with both goals being the first two of her collegiate career. Erin Wright added a goal in the 69th minute followed by an own goal.
As a team, Upstate is second in the ASUN with 19.0 shots per game. The Spartans are also fourth with 76 shots and five assists.
Wofford is 1-4 after defeating Hampton 7-1 on Sunday. The Terriers have setbacks against Coastal Carolina, UNC Asheville, Presbyterian College and Radford. Hayley Younginer leads the team with eight goals, scoring eight of Wofford's 14 goals on the season.
The Terriers lead the all-time series 5-0-1.

The Spartans wrap up the weekend at Winthrop on Sunday. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
