Paksanont Shoots 69 in Second Round of Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic

Kiawah Island, S.C. – Pan Paksanont carded a second round 69 on Monday to lead the USC Upstate women's golf team and is tied for 11^th place out of more than 220 golfers after day two of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic from the par 72, 5964-yard Osprey Point Golf Club.

USC Upstate carded its second straight round of 601 and is tied with Marshall and Boston for 22^nd place at 602 for the tournament.

College of Charleston leads the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic by 11 strokes at 9-under par 567. Valentina Giraldo of Jacksonville State is atop the individual leaderboard by one stroke over College of Charleston's Victoria Huskey at 7-under 137.

A LOOK AT THE SCORECARD

The Spartans currently have a 3.40 stroke average in par 3 scoring, 4.24 stroke average in par 4 scoring and 5.11 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
USC Upstate has also recorded 102 pars, 20 birdies and one eagle through two rounds.
The Spartans are tied for the lead in the flight championship heading into tomorrow's final round.
Paksanont recorded the third round of her career in the 60's after shooting a 69 on Monday.
Paksanont leads USC Upstate individually tied for 11^th place at 1-under 143.
Brooke Hutto had a second round 78 and is the second-highest golfer, tied for 91^st at 152.
Sidney Dermody and Anna Chanthaphaeng both posted scores of 77 in their second rounds. Dermody is tied for 104^th at 153 and Chanthaphaeng tied for 116^th at 154.
Payton Culler rounds out the leaderboard for the Spartans with a second round 80 and is tied for 182^nd place at 163.
Paksanont leads USC Upstate in par 3 scoring (E, 3.00 stroke average), par 4 scoring (-1, 3.94 stroke average, par 5 scoring (E, 5.00 stroke average) and birdies (8).
Hutto and Chanthaphaeng are both at even-par with a 5.00 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
Dermody has contributed a team-leading 23 pars through two rounds.
The Spartans recorded their first eagle of the tournament on Monday as Culler eagled the par 5 4^th hole.

UP NEXT

The final round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic will tee off at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
The top 22 teams will play for the tournament championship at Osprey Point Golf Club while teams 23-43 are playing for the flight championship at Oak Point Golf Club.
