Spartans End Losing Skid against Lancers

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's soccer team defeated Longwood 1-0 on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 215 people at County University Soccer Stadium.
The win broke a two game losing streak for USC Upstate (3-8-0, 1-3-0 BSC) and it also snapped a three game home losing streak. Pascal Corvino took a pass from Pol Monells in the fourth minute of the game and fired it past the goalie to give the Spartans the early advantage.
Outside of the goal in the opening minutes of the first half the two teams were evenly matched. Both squads took turns marching it up and down the field as they attempted to score on one another. USC Upstate starting goalkeeper Felipe Baeza stood strong in goal with four saves on the night. Baeza also recorded his third clean sheet of the season in the win on Saturday night.
