Spartan Golf Classic slated for Friday, October 9

Event rescheduled from August now has additional playing spots available
After rain forced the postponement of the Spartan Golf Classic, presented by Capital Corporation, on its original date of August 21st, the USC Upstate Athletic Department is ready to host the 19th edition of this annual fundraiser on Friday, October 9. The event will remain at Woodfin Ridge Golf Club, 215 S. Woodfin Ridge Drive, Inman, S.C.
"While it was disappointing to have to postpone our event in August, there is a silver lining in that we are now able to accommodate a few additional teams for the event next month," said vice chancellor and director of athletics Daniel Feig. "We are grateful to Woodfin Ridge for their partnership and helping us secure a rain date quickly and for helping us keep all our tee times and COVID protocols in place from the originally schedule event. The continuity has been appreciated by our donors and on this new date we have a little bit more flexibility to be able to add in a few more teams as well."
As was originally set in August, USC Upstate and Woodfin Ridge have implemented several operational safeguards to keep participants safe and socially distant amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here's what you need to know:Â
- Teams or individuals will be given a specific tee time so as to limit gatherings to 10 or fewer players at any one time. Specific times will also be assigned for the driving range and putting green. For teams and individuals signed up for the August 21 event, your tee time remains the same for October 9th. Any new teams or individuals will be assigned a tee time while they are available.
- To avoid lines and in an effort to make the event "cashless," all registrations will be online. For more details or online registration questions, please contact Caleb Poore at 864-503-5144.
