Cora Brendle Collects Six Saves, Securing Five or More Saves For the 10th Time This Season, for Women's Soccer at Longwood

FARMVILLE, Va. – On the road for the final time in the regular season, USC Upstate women's soccer found itself in a battle in a match that featured numerous seeding implications as the 2021 Big South Conference slate winds down.
 
Entering the match seeking a victory for the third time in its last four conference matches, the Spartans fell on the wrong end of the decision, falling 5-0 at Longwood Saturday.
 
In net for Upstate, sophomore goalkeeper Cora Brendle collected six saves in 68 minutes of action, securing five or more saves for the 10th time in 11 matches this season.

How It Happened
  • 3' – Taking a cross from Kaylee Unger inside the box, Longwood's Alex Dinger deflected the ball to teammate Alayna Palamar who finished for her first goal of the match.
  • 10' – Off a long through ball from Dinger, Danielle Toone works the ball to the end line, passing back into the box to find Kiersten Yuhas on the other end of the pass for her first goal of the match.
  • 15' – After tallying a pair of assists on each of Longwood's first two goals, Dinger added a goal as she slammed home the rebound of a saved Yuhas shot.
  • 62' – Winning the ball back in her team's defensive third, Yuhas fired a shot from distance that found the back of the net to tally her second score of the match.
  • 64' – Receiving a cross from Grace Taylor off the baseline, Palamar drove home her second goal of the match, finishing toward the back corner.
