SPARTANBURG, S.C. – For the fourth time in four all-time meetings during the Spartans' Division I era, USC Upstate men's soccer exited its match with Longwood with at least one point in the stands, playing to a 1-1 draw Saturday at County University Soccer Stadium.

For Torres, the goal marked his second of 2021, adding to his goal from Upstate's victory at Furman while freshman midfielder

How It Happened
- 5' – Taking a ball played to him at the top of the box, Longwood's Justin Wilson fired a one-timer at goal as Upstate's Luca Bulfon made a diving save from atop the six-yard box.
- 14' – Off a Longwood corner, Dan Ahrens leaped above the defense to get a piece of the ball with his head, flicking a shot towards the frame and a waiting Bulfon.
- 18' – Stepping up to take a corner kick, Longwood's Markus Gronli delivered a ball to the near post, finding Leif VanSlyke who thread a header between a leaping Bulfon and the post for the match's first score.
- 27' – Finding space just outside the 18-yard box, Upstate's Javier Torres fired a shot toward the left post, sending Lancer keeper Jacob Reimers diving for the save.
- 34' – Stepping in to take away a Lancer pass, Upstate's Fabian Dietrich found Javier Torres atop the 18-yard box for a cross-body, right-footed shot that rolled past a diving Reimers for the equalizer.
- 42' – Taking a pass from Alex Ljusberg, Spartan Elias Ehlin delivered a one-timer on frame, driving the line drive shot into the arms of Reimers.
- 97' – With the ball finding him off a carom following a corner kick, Gronli fired a one-timer into the arms of Bulfon. Working quickly on a counterattack, Upstate's Mario Arrocha delivered a cross into the box where a streaking Brody Williams got a boot on it, forcing a quick save.
- 105' – Working with a pass to the edge of the 18-yard box, Longwood's Justin Wilson rocketed a shot off the right post in what was the Lancers' best scoring opportunity of the second overtime.
- 107' – Receiving a cross from Filippo Censini towards the back post, Alvaro Martin fired a shot for the Spartans as Reimers made the save near the post to thwart the attempt.

- With its draw Saturday afternoon, Upstate secured its fourth consecutive positive result against Longwood since joining the Big South in 2018, going 2-0-2 in the stretch.
- Tallying an assist on Javier Torres' goal, Fabian Dietrich notched his first career point as a Spartan on what was Torres' fourth goal of his career.
- With 10 saves Saturday afternoon, Luca Bulfon tallied his first career double-figure save match behind his career-best save total.
