
Upstate Student-Athletes Succeed in the Classroom with Another Successful Semester

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate student-athletes put together another strong semester in the classroom during the Fall 2022 semester, posting a department-wide grade point average of 3.25. This semester 186 student-athletes achieved a 3.00 GPA with 31 of those earning a perfect 4.00 GPA.

"I'm proud of our student-athletes' exceptional performance in the classroom this fall! Semester after semester, they continue to reinforce our primary mission of competing in the classroom and working towards graduation, and their performance was off the charts this semester! Thank you to our coaches and staff for prioritizing their academic experience" said Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics/Athletic Director Daniel Feig.

Eleven Upstate athletic programs achieved a team GPA of 3.00 or greater with men's golf setting the department's high-water mark with a 3.61 team GPA. Softball (3.59), women's soccer (3.52), women's golf (3.50) and volleyball (3.42) rounded out the remainder of the top five.
