Women's Golf Captures Another Top-Five Finish at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational, Making it Four Straight to Open the Season

ARDEN, N.C. – Continuing the longest streak of consecutive top-five finishes since the close of the 2021-22 season, USC Upstate women's golf captured its second straight top-three finish and fourth straight top-five finish as play finished at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational Tuesday.

Leading to the team's third-place finish, each of the five members of the team's lineup claimed a top-25 finish as the team accomplished the feat for the second time this season after also seeing each member of the team's lineup and six golfers total finish top-25 at the Eagle Classic in early October. Fashioning scores of 298-306-303-907, the Spartans finished three strokes shy of a playoff for the team championship.

For the second consecutive event, each member of the team's lineup carded 54-hole scoring totals of 234 or better with each of the two events falling within a week of one another. Doing so for the third time this season through four events, redshirt senior Preaw Nontarux captured a top-10 finish, tying for ninth behind scores of 74-75-76-225.

Senior Suwarin Yord-in joined Nontarux in claiming a top-15 individual finish as she turned in marks of 78-75-76-229, finishing 15^th. Rounding out the Spartans' finishers were sophomore Rylie Kosney (73-82-75-230), freshman Supatta Puttanavarat (78-77-76-231), and junior Alexis Rieli (73-79-81-233) who tied for 16^th, tied for 19^th, and tied for 24^th, respectively.

With four straight top-five finishes to open the season, the total marks the most consecutive top-five finishes to open the season since claiming six such finishes to open the 2019-20 season.
The team's four straight top-five finishes also mark the most consecutive top-five finishes for the program since earning four such finishes to close the 2021-22 season.
