Beem Pabsimma Earns Second Career and Women's Golf's Third Straight Top-Three Individual Finish at the Big South Women's Championship

GREENWOOD, S.C. – Hitting the course for the final time during the 2022-23 season, USC Upstate women's golf secured a top-three individual finisher for the third consecutive year at the Big South Women's Golf Championship as stroke play concluded at the latest iteration of the event Friday at The Links at Stoney Point.

Leading the Spartans, redshirt senior Beem Pabsimma claimed her second career top-three finish—following medalist honors in 2021—at the Big South Championship, finishing third on the final leaderboard. She fashioned scores of 71-77-73-221 with her opening-round 71 marking the Spartans' lowest round of the event.

Placing behind Pabsimma on the leaderboard, junior Suwarin Yord-in and redshirt junior Preaw Nontarux notched top-30 finishes, tying for 20^th and placing 28^th. Yord-in carded marks of 80-78-75-233 while Nontarux turned in scores of 79-82-75-236. As part of her final-round 75, Yord-in carded one of three eagles at the event, doing so on the Par-4, 377-yard eighth hole at The Links at Stoney Point.

As a team, Upstate posted rounds of 309-326-307-942 to place eighth on the final team leaderboard.

Notable

Leading to her third-place finish and a spot on the All-Championship Team, Beem Pabsimma finished top-10 in the Big South Championship field in three statistical categories. She led the tournament field in total pars with 41, ranked second in Par-4 Scoring (4.03; +1), and tied for 10^th in Par-5 Scoring (5.17; +2).
In addition to her eagle—one of three in the tournament—Suwarin Yord-in tied for seventh in the event field in Par-4 Scoring (4.20; +6).
Rounding out the Spartans finishing top-10 in the tournament field in statistical categories, Preaw Nontarux tied for 10^th in the tournament field in Par-5 Scoring (5.17; +2).
