Spartanburg, S.C. – Upstate Men's Soccer was back in action, taking a break from conference play to face the Furman University Paladins. Despite a close contest, the Paladins walked away victorious, winning 3-1.

The backline of each team proved to be strong throughout the first 30 minutes of the match, with each team unable to find the back of the net. Furman would strike first, tallying a goal at the 33-minute mark. For the Spartans, Anthony Cox led in shots with two, recording one shot on goal. Upstate kept a fighting spirit and responded with a goal by Guy Ellis, assisted by Dario Stadler and Liam Duggan. Stadler and Duggan each added a shot on the night. Ollie West was the other Spartan to record a shot and shot on goal. Goalkeeper Kristian Eek earned a new season and career high in saves, collecting five on the night.
