Men's Soccer Drops Road Match against South Carolina

Columbia, S.C. – The Spartans opened a three-game road stand tonight, facing off against the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. Upstate outshot the Gamecocks in the second half, firing off five shots while holding South Carolina to two. In a quick-paced match, it was the Gamecocks who walked away with the 4-0 win.
Bradyn Cobb led Upstate in shots with two. Luke Halkett took his only shot on goal from a free kick just outside the penalty box, but South Carolina's goalkeeper made the save to keep the match at 2-0 going into halftime. Both Elijah Jackson and Anthony Cox recorded a shot for Upstate. Ezra Hoffman and Dzenan Cerimagic were the other Spartans to take aim at the goal, each finishing the match with one shot and one shot on goal. Goalkeeper Cooper Jennings made three saves on the night.
