USC Upstate announces 2026 softball promotional schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate Athletics has unveiled the fun filled promotional schedule for the 2026 softball season, offering fans an array of engaging experiences at Hawkins Field at Cyrill Stadium. From youth participation opportunities to fan giveaways and themed game days, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Admission
Admission to all on-campus USC Upstate softball games is free, compliments of Ingles, the official supermarket of the Spartans. For the Big South Conference Championship, to be held May 6-9 at Cyrill Stadium, tickets will be sold to that event and more information will be released in April. Â
Field of Dreams
Young baseball and softball players can take the field with the Spartans for the national anthem before each home game. Youth teams can sign up at upstatespartans.com/sbfieldofdreams.
Fan-Favorite Promotions Return
Back by popular demand, Free Dog Friday ensures that the first 30 students in attendance at Friday home games during Big South play receive a voucher for a free hot dog, redeemable after the third inning. This promotion will be available on the following dates:
Our wiffleball field is available for kids to play and live out their big league dreams in the grass areas between Harley Park and Cyrill Stadium. Sparty's Sandlot, presented by SuperChix, is open from the 1st inning of each home game to either the 5th Inning Stretch (softball) or 7th Inning Stretch (baseball), weather permitting for games in March through May. (Play at your own risk.)

- For 5th through 8th graders who aspire to be a sportscaster, photographer or content creator, apply now and be one of a select few to cover the game like a pro! Maximum of 30 participants, apply by emailing Katie Kaddell at KKaddell@uscupstate.edu.
- NEXSTAR / Ingles Game of the Week – Contest to air on ESPN+ and CW 62
- April 22 – Sparty Q
- Hosted by USC Upstate Campus Activities Board (CAB), the campus evening meal is served at the game with addition food truck(s) plus music and yard games for Upstate students
- May 1 - Military Appreciation Day, Flashback Friday – Totally Radical 80s
- May 2 Â - Senior Day, Sparty Derby
- We celebrate our Seniors and we may also have some fun with our own lighthearted version of a certain horse race taking place in Kentucky on the same day
- May 6-9 Â Big South Conference Softball Championship
- The top 6 teams in the Big South will descend on Cyrill Stadium May 6-9.Â
- Friday, May 8 we will host our final Flashback Friday music themed day for the tournament semifinals. The Big South tournament is a ticketed event and ticket information will be released in April.

- Sully's Steal/Strikeout Inning: If the Spartans record a steal (softball) or strikeout (baseball) in the third inning, all fans in attendance receive a free combo upgrade from Sully's Steamers, redeemable within 48 hours at their location.
- Bojangles Bo'Berry Blast Inning: If USC Upstate hits a home run in the fourth inning, all fans in attendance receive a coupon for a free Bo'Berry Biscuit from Bojangles.
