Men’s Basketball announces David Tubek as another piece to the 2026-27 Signing Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Head Coach, Marty Richter has announced David Tubek to the 2026-27 signing class for USC Upstate Men's Basketball ahead of the new campaign. Tubek transfers after UTEP after appearing in 12 games for the Miners during the 2025-26 season.
Tubek averaged 3.3 points a game with his season high being 14 points against Western New Mexico on November 7, 2025. Tubek's collegiate experience ranges with spending two seasons with Seton Hall appearing in 41 games and starting in two games. Tubek provides a defensive presence where he has shown that he can clog the passing lane and protect the rim standing at 6'7. Tubek was a three-star recruit out of high school and competed at the AAU level for the New Jersey Scholars. As a senior, Tubek averaged 16.8 points and added 9.8 rebounds at Dream City Christian in Arizona while shooting 43.5 percent from beyond the arc.
As Tubek prepares for his senior season with Upstate, Head Coach Marty Richter expressed his excitement of having Tubek with the program. Richter mentioned, "David brings a great blend of size, skill, and physicality to the forward position for us. Our program is going to benefit from his experiences both on and off the court. As a staff, we look forward to helping him make the most of his senior season here in the Upstate."
David Tubek looks to add to the culture of Upstate Men's Basketball as the Spartans look to climb in the Big South and nationally while adding depth in the frontcourt. Tubek's two-way style could mesh with Marty Richter's system as the Spartans begin their new chapter towards the 2026-27 season.
