Liana Bryant: Success as a Spartan

Senior forward Liana Bryant has made an immediate impact since arriving at USC Upstate, bringing experience, confidence and a proven scoring touch to the Spartans' attack. The Grand Junction, Colorado, native joined Upstate after stops at Mississippi Valley State and Grambling State, where she established herself as one of the SWAC's top offensive threats. Bryant earned First Team All-SWAC honors in 2024 after scoring nine goals for Mississippi Valley State before adding six goals and five assists at Grambling in 2025.
That production has carried over to Spartanburg. Through the non-conference portion of the 2026 season, Bryant led USC Upstate with eight goals, three assists and 15 points while also accounting for three game-winning goals. Her strong start earned her Big South Offensive Player of the Week honors and a spot on the conference's Midseason Players to Watch List.
More than just a scorer, Bryant has quickly become a centerpiece of a new-look Upstate attack. Her ability to create one-on-one, finish chances and provide veteran experience has given the Spartans an important presence in the final third as she looks to make the most of her senior season.
