Big South Conference Schedule Announced for Men's Basketball

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate men's basketball learned its path through Big South Conference play as the league announced its 2026-27 conference schedule, featuring a 16-game slate beginning on New Year's Day.
The Spartans open Big South action at home, welcoming UNC Asheville to the G.B. Hodge Center on Friday, Jan. 1. Two days later, Upstate hits the road for the first time in league play, traveling to High Point on Sunday, Jan. 3.
Upstate returns to Spartanburg for back-to-back home contests, hosting Radford on Wednesday, Jan. 6 before welcoming Winthrop on Saturday, Jan. 9. The Spartans then begin a stretch that sees three of their next four contests played away from home, traveling to Charleston Southern on Jan. 13 and Presbyterian on Jan. 20 around a Jan. 23 home matchup with Gardner-Webb.
The month of January concludes with Upstate traveling to Longwood on Thursday, Jan. 28 before returning to the Hodge Center to host High Point on Saturday, Jan. 30.Â
February opens with another home date as Presbyterian visits Spartanburg on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Upstate then travels to Radford on Feb. 6 before heading to Winthrop on Feb. 13.
The Spartans return home Thursday, Feb. 18 for their second meeting of the season with Charleston Southern. Upstate closes the regular season with three of its final four contests on the road, visiting UNC Asheville on Feb. 20 and Gardner-Webb on Feb. 25 before returning home to face Longwood in the regular-season finale on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The 2027 Big South Men's Basketball Championship is scheduled for March 3 and March 5-7 at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn. The tournament opens with the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds meeting in the first round on March 3, followed by the quarterfinals March 5, semifinals March 6 and championship game March 7.
Game times for the conference schedule will be announced at a later date, and the schedule remains subject to change, including adjustments related to television selections.
