We are looking forward to hosting your team during the upcoming season at the University of South Carolina Upstate. As our guest, we hope that your visit is enjoyable.
For your convenience, this webpage includes a listing of athletic training room services, practice facilities, and other items that might assist you in preparing for your trip to USC Upstate. If you have any questions, please call 864-503-5140.

Athletic Training Room Information
The athletic training room is located in the G.B. Hodge Center adjacent to the arena and is available for your use upon request. If your team members require our assistance, please notify us in advance. There is not an athletic training room at the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex. For those teams who will play their contests at the complex, you still need to utilize the athletic training room in the G.B. Hodge Center. The following modalities are available in the athletic training room:
• Hydro collator Packs
• Electrotherapy
• Ice Cups
• Ice Packs
• Ultrasound
• Use of this modality by ATC or by written request only.
The following supplies will be available at game site:
• One 10 gallon cooler
• Splints
• Ice & Ice bags
• Drink cups
• Bio-Hazard materials

Practice Facilities
Practice times for all USC Upstate athletic facilities must be approved in advance. Please contact Nathan Dixon or the head coach of the respective sport to request practice times.
Locker Rooms
Visiting team locker rooms for basketball and volleyball are located on the lower level of the G.B. Hodge Center. Visiting team locker rooms for soccer, baseball, and softball are also located at the G. B. Hodge Center, a 5 minute drive from those competition facilities. Towels are not provided. USC Upstate is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Travel & Directions
Directions to the USC Upstate G. B. Hodge Center and Louis P. Howell Sports Complex. Please note to follow the detour signs for the Business I-85 closure from Summer 2021 to Summer 2023.
From Interstate 26:
Take exit 18B to Interstate 85 North. Follow I-85 to exit 72 (Hwy. 176-585). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right on Hwy. 176. Take the East Campus Boulevard exit and turn left at the light. For the G.B. Hodge Center (basketball and volleyball), turn left onto University Way just after the pond on the left. University Way will begin to wind around toward the front of campus and the Hodge Center is on the right. For the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex (baseball, soccer, softball, and tennis), follow East Campus Blvd. to North Campus Blvd. and turn left at the stop sign. The Athletic Complex will be on your right about 300 yards.
From Interstate 85 South:
Follow I-85 to exit 72 (Hwy. 176-585). At the end of the exit ramp, turn right on Hwy. 176. Take the East Campus Boulevard exit and turn left at the light. For the G.B. Hodge Center (basketball and volleyball), turn left onto University Way just after the pond on the left. University Way will begin to wind around toward the front of campus and the Hodge Center is on the right. For the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex (baseball, soccer, softball, and tennis), follow East Campus Blvd. to North Campus Blvd. and turn left at the stop sign. The Athletic Complex will be on your right about 300 yards.
From Interstate 85 North:
Follow I-85 to exit 72 (Hwy. 176-585). At the end of the exit ramp, turn left toward Spartanburg on Hwy. 176. Take the East Campus Boulevard exit and turn left at the light. For the G.B. Hodge Center (basketball and volleyball), turn left onto University Way just after the pond on the left. University Way will begin to wind around toward the front of campus and the Hodge Center is on the right. For the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex (baseball, soccer, softball, and tennis), follow East Campus Blvd. to North Campus Blvd. and turn left at the stop sign. The Athletic Complex will be on your right about 300 yards.
From Business Loop 85 South: (until Summer 2023, please use the "from Interstate 85 South directions" due to the bridge replacement just south of Hearon Circle)
Take exit 5B and turn left onto Milliken Road. Turn left at the next road and cross over bridge. At the stop sign, continue straight onto North Campus Blvd. For the Hodge Center (basketball and volleyball) turn left onto East Campus Blvd and turn right onto University Way prior to getting to the pond. University Way will begin to wind around toward the front of campus and the Hodge Center is on the right. For the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex (baseball, soccer, softball, and tennis), continue on North Campus Blvd. The complex will be on your right about 300 yards past East Campus Blvd.
From Business Loop 85 North:
Take exit 5B (Hwy. 176-585) and exit at Valley Falls Road. Turn right onto Valley Falls Road and go through the first traffic light. Turn right onto North Campus Blvd. at the youth soccer fields (on your right). For the Louis P. Howell Athletic Complex (baseball, soccer, softball, and tennis), follow North Campus Blvd. for 500 yards and the complex will be on your left. For the Hodge Center (basketball and volleyball), continue on North Campus Blvd. to East Campus Blvd. and turn right. Turn right onto University Way prior to getting to the pond. University Way will begin to wind around toward the front of campus and the Hodge Center is on the right.
