Santiago Restrepo

Santiago Restrepo is entering his third season as an assistant coach for the USC Upstate men's soccer programs. Restrepo works primarily with the Spartan goalkeepers.

Prior to joining the Spartans, Restrepo was the varsity soccer coach at nearby Boiling Springs High School as well as the club goalkeeper coach for Carolina Elite Soccer Academy.

Restrepo is no stranger to USC Upstate, having played goalie for the men’s soccer team from 2014-2017. While overcoming a series of injuries in his career, he made 14 career starts and compiled 1,128 minutes of playing time in the net for the Spartans. The Palmetto State native held a 1.91 goals against average and recorded 47 saves in his career.

Restrepo played professionally for both A.F.C. Roatan (Honduras 2nd Division) and Kaw Valley F.C. (USL League Two). In college, he also played for NPSL teams Lansing United and Upward Stars.

Originally from Greenville, S.C., Restrepo helped Eastside High School to a State Championship in 2011. In 2013, he was named to the S.C. All-State team. Additionally, he played club soccer for Carolina FC.
