- Graduate Assistant, Women's Soccer
Erin Weir enters her first season with the Upstate women's soccer program as a Graduate Assistant after building an impressive coaching and playing resume at both the collegiate and club levels.
Weir has quickly established herself as an accomplished coach in Western New York. She previously served as head coach of the WNY Flash Girls 2011 Premier team, guiding the squad to a Thruway League Championship. She also worked as an assistant coach with the WNY Flash Girls 2018/2019 Pre-ECNL team, contributing to the development of players preparing for elite competition.
Since 2025, Weir has been a member of the coaching staff at The Training Pitch in Buffalo, a technical development program focused on individual skill development, technical proficiency, and player growth. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes technical excellence, game intelligence, and creating an environment that challenges players to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
In addition to her coaching experience, Weir is a recent graduate of Canisius University, where she was a four-year standout defender for the Golden Griffins and established herself as one of the top left backs in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). During her senior season, she earned All-MAAC Second Team honors after starting all 19 matches and recording a career-best 12 points on two goals and a team-leading eight assists. She was also named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, earned recognition on the MAAC All-Academic Team, and played a key role in the Golden Griffins' success throughout the season.
Before her collegiate career, Weir competed for the WNY Flash ECNL '03 squad, helping lead the club to two ECNL Conference Championships. She also spent six seasons with FC Buffalo of the USL W League, continuing her development while competing at a high level against top regional talent.
