Hannah Baker joined the Spartans as a Graduate Assistant for Compliance at USC Upstate in the fall of 2025.

Baker comes to USC Upstate from Converse University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management, along with minors in American Sign Language and Social Entrepreneurship.

A former student-athlete, Baker competed for four years on the Acrobatics and Tumbling team at Converse. During her career, she was a two-time event conference champion and earned multiple academic honors, including Dean’s List and NCATA Academic Honor Roll recognition. She was also named Converse’s Comeback Athlete of the Year in 2023 and received multiple team leadership awards.

Most recently, Baker concluded an internship as an assistant to the women's gymnastics director of operations at the University of Alabama. 

She comes from a highly athletic family. Her father, Jim Baker, was the head men’s basketball coach at Catawba College for over 20 years. Her brother, Jamie, played college basketball at Presbyterian and Appalachian State and is now the Assistant Coach and Video Coordinator for Kennesaw State Men’s Basketball. Her sister competed on the gymnastics team at SUNY Brockport and currently coaches competitive gymnastic in Brooklyn, New York. Her younger brother currently plays basketball at East Carolina University. 

Originally from Concord, North Carolina, Baker is currently pursuing her Master of Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina.
