Kyle Beaty enters his second season on the USC Upstate baseball staff in 2027 and his first as the program's Director of Pitching Development after being promoted to the position in July 2026. Beaty joined the staff as a student assistant in 2026 following the conclusion of his collegiate playing career.
In his first season on staff, Beaty helped the Spartans continue their historic run of success as USC Upstate captured its second consecutive Big South Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. The Spartans earned their sixth consecutive 30-win season and advanced to the third day of NCAA Regional play after earning the program's first NCAA Tournament victory.
Beaty's promotion to Director of Pitching Development continued his association with the Upstate program after spending the 2025 season as a right-handed pitcher for the Spartans. During his lone season in an Upstate uniform, Beaty helped the Spartans capture the first Big South regular-season and tournament championships in program history and earn the program's first NCAA Division I Tournament appearance at the NCAA Clemson Regional.
Prior to USC Upstate, Beaty spent the 2024 season at Florida Atlantic, making 13 appearances out of the bullpen. He tossed 13.0 innings and struck out 12 hitters, averaging 8.31 strikeouts per nine innings. Beaty recorded four scoreless outings during the campaign and struck out a season-high three batters on two occasions.
Beaty spent the 2023 season at Northwest Florida State, where he made 21 appearances, including six starts, and emerged as a key member of the pitching staff. He compiled a 5-2 record with two saves and a 4.80 ERA across 50.2 innings while striking out 59 hitters. His 59 strikeouts translated to 10.48 strikeouts per nine innings. He recorded nine scoreless appearances and authored one of his top collegiate performances against Pensacola State College, tossing 5.1 innings and striking out a career-high 10 hitters.
He began his collegiate career at Tulane in 2022, appearing in 13 games out of the bullpen as a freshman. Beaty worked 15.2 innings and struck out 12 hitters while posting a 5.17 ERA. He recorded seven scoreless appearances, including a season-long 3.0-inning outing against East Carolina.
Across his stops at Tulane, Northwest Florida State and Florida Atlantic before joining the Spartans, Beaty appeared in 47 games and logged 79.1 innings while striking out 83 hitters. His collegiate career provided experience across the NCAA Division I and junior college levels before he finished his playing career at USC Upstate.
A native of Dacula, Ga., Beaty attended Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Ga. He posted a 0.90 ERA during his senior season while earning Second Team All-County and Second Team All-Region honors. He also competed for Team Elite on the travel circuit.
Beaty comes from a baseball family as his brother, Matt, has played professionally at the Major League level. Matt Beaty has appeared for multiple MLB organizations after beginning his Major League career with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
