Maddisen (Maddi) Currier joined the USC Upstate development team in February 2023.
Currier is a fundraiser with experience in formalizing systems, events and campaigns to ensure a donor-centric experience. She comes to USC Upstate from Hope Center for Children, where she served as Director of Development, leading all development efforts for the organization as well as serving as a member of the senior leadership team. Prior to being named DOD, she served as Development Associate for 4 years. During her time at HCFC, Currier energized HCFC’s signature events, created the annual Giving Tuesday and Hope for the Holidays campaigns, and grew total fundraising efforts to more than $1.6 million annually.
Currier was named the 2018 OneSpartanburg Ambassador of the Year, received a Diverse Scholar award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (National) in 2020, and serves on the Association of Fundraising Professionals SC Piedmont Chapter Board and is the Chair of the City of Spartanburg Bicycle & Pedestrian Committee.
Currier is a 2013 BA graduate of Converse University, where she was a member of the Women’s Basketball team and served as class president. She also earned a Master of Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida (‘16) and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
A middle Tennessee native, Currier lives in Spartanburg with her wife, Jenni (Russell), and their two dogs.
