Sarah Jordan is in her first year at USC Upstate, joining the sports medicine staff in July 2023. Her primary sport responsibilities are with volleyball and men's and women's cross country and track & field.
She comes to Upstate after spending 12 years at Spartanburg Methodist College. During her tenure at SMC, she provided care for a variety of teams including men’s soccer, indoor and beach volleyball, men’s basketball, wrestling, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s golf. Most recently, she was with indoor and beach volleyball, men’s basketball, and men’s and women’s golf. She has helped a variety of teams appear at several NJCAA National Tournaments. Sarah wrote and designed many of the policies and procedures still in use today.
Jordan has served as a Preceptor for Western Carolina’s Athletic Training Program for many years and will be able to continue that roll at Upstate. She enjoys teaching informally and allowing athletic training students to learn and grow. She has also earned her Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification and her Corrective Exercise Specialist CES) certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Recognizing a need for more education in the psychology component of athletic training, she earned a Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology in December of 2021 from California University of Pennsylvania (now PennWest California).
Prior to her time at SMC, Jordan spent one year at her alma mater, Wilmington College of Ohio providing care for the women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s tennis teams. She served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Eastern Kentucky University working with the women’s soccer team and men’s and women’s cross country and track and field teams. There she studied Sports Administration.
Jordan graduated from Wilmington College of Ohio in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Athletic Training.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, being on the water, reading, crafts, and houseplants.
She lives in Greer with her 2 cats, Raptor and Pepper.
