Scott Tanner

Dr. Scott Tanner enters his first year as the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) for USC Upstate Athletics.

Dr. Tanner is an Assistant Professor of Biology, joining the faculty in 2019. His research with undergraduates focuses on intestinal disease and development and the evolution of the insulin signaling pathway. Dr. Tanner teaches Genetics, Developmental Biology, and Immunology.

He is no stranger to collegiate athletics, having been a student-athlete (swimming) as an undergraduate at Indiana University, where he earned All-America honors in 2005 and qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 100m butterfly.
