
Draws For USC Upstate Fall Tournament Announced

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - USC Upstate head tennis coach Alessandro De Marzo announced the draws for the 2009 USC Upstate Fall Tournament, which will begin on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the USC Upstate Tennis Complex. The men's draw will feature six teams: Clemson, Furman, Wofford, Presbyterian, USC Aiken and USC Upstate. The women's draw will feature five teams: Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Presbyterian, Wofford and USC Upstate. The two-day event will feature 39 men's tennis student-athletes and 39 women's tennis student-athletes split into three singles draws on each the men's and women's side and two doubles draws on the men's and women's side as well.
Upstate will be represented in the men's 'A' draw by seniors Javier Tori and Jack Roux and sophomore Edgar Rodriguez. Tori will start the tournament against Wofford's Stuart Robertson at 10 a.m. on Friday. Roux will face Matt Martin of Presbyterian at 11:30 a.m. and Rodriguez will face USC Aiken's Gregory Andrade in the first round.
In doubles play, both the teams of Roux and Rodriguez and Tori and Renzo Airaldi will play in the 'A' draw.
On the women's side, Carolina Bello, Ana-Sofia Camberos and Cinthya Lazaro will each play in the singles 'A' draw. Bello will play the winner of the match between Marija Dzakovic of Charleston Southern and Heather Isbell of Presbyterian in the quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Lazaro will face Presbyterian's Olivia McMillan at 10 a.m. and Camberos will face Appalachian State's Jennifer Ansori in the first round.
In doubles play, the team of Camberos and Emilia Milovanovic will face Olivia Stannard and Gisela Fernandez in the first round of the 'A' draw on Friday.
