Spartans Wrap-up Day One of Upstate Fall Classic

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The doubles team of Ramiro Blanco and Gonzalo Blanco led the way for the USC Upstate men's tennis team on Friday afternoon.
The brothers, one a junior (Ramiro) the other a freshman (Gonzalo), defeated the doubles team of Joel Cook and Robbie Aru from Furman by a score of 8-4, to advance in the doubles flight 'A' bracket.
In singles action, Ramiro Blanco advanced to the second round of singles 'A' with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bruno Orlandini of USC Aiken.
Meanwhile, Gonzalo Blanco fell to Joel Cook of Furman, 6-3, 6-2 in singles 'B'.
The USC Upstate Fall Classic will resume tomorrow morning with today's winners competing at the Upstate Tennis Complex and a consolation tournament taking place at Wofford College.
