
Men's Tennis Set for Final Battle of 2011

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Riding a four-match win streak, the USC Upstate men's tennis team is set for its final match of the 2011 season when it travels to Buies Creek, N.C., for a Friday afternoon match at Campbell.
Last weekend, Upstate claimed a pair of home victories over Lipscomb (W, 5-2) and Belmont (W, 6-1) to improve to 11-11 overall and 7-2 in league play.
Last season, the Spartans downed Campbell in Spartanburg in the final match of the season to cap a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play.
Spartan Volleys…
• After falling to 2-2 in the A-Sun, the Spartans have won five consecutive matches and the team is currently tied for third with Campbell.
• Since the start of the 2007-08 season, the Spartans are 9-2 in matches that take place in the month of April.
• With a win on Friday and a loss by North Florida over the weekend, the Spartans can clinch a share of second place in the A-Sun.
