
Upstate Basketball Tests Tennessee Saturday in Knoxville

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's basketball team looks to return to its winning ways when the Spartans travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for a 7 p.m. matchup with Tennessee Saturday evening from Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Spartans opened the season with a 64-63 victory Nov. 9 at Virginia Tech to secure the program's first-ever win over an ACC opponent. Upstate junior Ty Greene scored 17 points in leading the Spartans to the victory and was later named the Atlantic Sun Player of the Week for his efforts.
In its most recent game, Upstate fell 82-74 at Winthrop despite a career-high 31 points from senior forward Torrey Craig. Craig also pulled down nine rebounds and hit five three-pointers. Greene added 21 points and tied his career-high with seven assists, while Ricardo Glenn finished with 14 points and three rebounds.
Craig enters the weekend leading the team and the Atlantic Sun in scoring with 22.0 points per game, while Greene stands third in the league with 19.0 points per game. Craig is attempting to lead the conference in scoring for the third consecutive year.
Saturday's game between USC Upstate and Tennessee will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
