Kidler Named to All-Atlantic Sun Second Team

Macon, Ga. – USC Upstate men's tennis senior Matthias Kidler was selected to the All-Atlantic Sun second team at the No. 1 position, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.
It's the second straight year that Kidler has been recognized by the conference, as he was tabbed the A-Sun Player of the Year and was selected to the All-A-Sun first team a season ago. The Bremen, Germany, native is the only Spartan in school history to earn A-Sun Player of the Year accolades.
Kidler turned in an 8-6 overall record in singles and a 5-2 mark against conference foes. In addition, he was 5-4 from the No. 1 position and finished the year with back-to-back wins and was victorious in seven of his last nine matches to help Upstate earn the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament.
Kidler was also 5-1 in singles play from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex and hasn't lost at home since March 1.
Upstate begins play in the conference tournament Thursday at 9 a.m. against No. 4 seed Stetson.
