
Upstate Faces Francis Marion Tuesday in Non-Conference Road Finale

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's soccer team closes the book on its road non-conference schedule for the 2015 season Tuesday evening as it travels to Florence, S.C. to face the Francis Marion Patriots at 7 p.m. from Hartzler Soccer Field.
Upstate enters the week with a 2-12-2 overall record following a 0-1-1 mark last weekend at home against Jacksonville and North Florida. The Spartans opened the weekend Friday evening with a 2-0 loss to Jacksonville before earning a point in the conference standings with a 0-0 draw versus North Florida on Sunday.
Ellen Bright grabbed nine saves each in the contests against Jacksonville and North Florida, improving her conference lead in total saves to 22 over JU's Sara Wicks. Bright has 113 saves this season to rank fourth nationally. She also sits third in the A-Sun with a .813 save percentage and is ninth in the nation in saves per game.
Kate Winegarner has scored a team-leading four goals and tallied 10 points this season to tie her for ninth in the A-Sun in goals scored and 11th in points. Kenzie Major is tied for fifth in the league in assists with a team-leading three.
Francis Marion enters the matchup with a 3-13-0 overall record under first-year head coach Lindsey Morgan. The Patriots hold a 5-3-2 lead in the all-time series over Upstate, but the Spartans won 2-1 last season in Spartanburg behind two goals from Major and four saves by Brooke Bailey.
