
Upstate Ends the Fall Tied for Seventh at Winthrop Intercollegiate

Rock Hill, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team concluded its fall season Sunday afternoon as it tied for seventh place at the Winthrop Intercollegiate following a final round 319 from the Rock Hill Country Club.
Upstate improved its overall score by 23 strokes from Saturday and finished with a 661 overall led individually by Payton Culler who tied for 18th place. Culler carded a final round 78 on Sunday and had a total score of 159 for the weekend.
Allea Hawkins tied her season-low round of 74 and cut 15 strokes off her score from Saturday. Hawkins finished in a tie for 25th place with a 163. She previously posted a round of 74 at the season-opening Jacksonville Classic.
Sidney Dermody finished just four spots behind Hawkins in the 29th position following her two-day score of 166. Dermody recorded a second round 82 and improved on her day one score by two strokes.
Malika Allie and Allie Gennaula both lowered their second round scores from the opening day as Allie had a score of 85 and Gennaula an 89. Allie placed in a tie for 36th with her 173 total and Gennaula tied for 43rd at 179.
Winthrop captured the Winthrop Intercollegiate with its two-round score of 609. Gardner-Webb's Taylor Dodson earned medalist honors after finishing with a 4-over 148.
