
Upstate Aims for Third Consecutive Win Wednesday at UAB

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's basketball team remains on the road Wednesday evening as it travels to Birmingham, Ala. to take on the UAB Blazers at 8 p.m. EST from Bartow Arena.
Upstate (3-9) earned its first road victory of the season Monday evening after defeating Navy 66-57 in Annapolis, Md. Josh Cuthbertson came off the bench to score a team-high 12 points for the Spartans while Deion Holmes chipped in 11. Michael Buchanan grabbed a team-best six rebounds and Jure Span dished out five assists.
UAB (6-3) has earned victories this season over Alabama State, Troy, Jacksonville State, Georgia State, Illinois State and Seattle. The Blazers are under the direction of fourth-year head coach Jerod Haase, who is 60-49 during his tenure in Birmingham. Statistically, UAB is led this season by Chris Cokley with 16.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while Robert Brown adds 10.7 points per contest.
Upstate is facing the Blazers for the first time in school history Wednesday evening.
