
Upstate Heads to Colorado State Monday to Conclude Three-Game Road Trip

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's basketball team finishes up a three-game road trip Monday evening as it heads to Fort Collins, Colo. for a 9 p.m. EST matchup against the Colorado State Rams inside Mody Arena.
Upstate enters the contest with a 3-10 overall record while Colorado State sits at 6-5 on the season.
The Spartans return to the court after dropping a 96-54 decision to the UAB Blazers on Dec. 16 in Birmingham, Ala. Michael Buchanan led Upstate offensively after scoring a season-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting to go with a team-best six rebounds. Philip Whittington came off the bench to score 13 points, falling two shy of tying his career-high, after going 6-for-10 from the field. Jure Span also dished out four assists.
Colorado State has earned victories this season over Northern Iowa, Loyola Marymount, Oakland, Abilene Christian, Portland and Arkansas-Fort Smith. The Rams are coming off a 61-56 loss to Kansas State Saturday evening in Wichita, Kan. Colorado State is led by fourth-year head coach Larry Eustachy, who is 75-37 during his tenure at CSU and 477-295 in 25 years of coaching. The Rams are led by Gian Clavell, who is one of four players averaging in double-figures, with 20.8 points per game this season. Emmanuel Omogbo has grabbed a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game while John Gillon contributes 4.4 assists per contest.
The Spartans and Colorado State are meeting for the first time in school history.

The Spartans are off until Wednesday, Dec. 30 when they return to the Hodge Center to face Lees-McRae at 7:30 p.m.
