Spartanburg, S.C. – USC Upstate golfer Pan Paksanont grabbed her second straight top-10 finish on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Spartan women's golf team to a season-best eight place performance at the Terrier Intercollegiate.
Upstate fired a final round 313, its lowest score of the tournament, during the final day of competition at the par 72, 6012-yard Country Club of Spartanburg. As a team, the Spartans cut nine strokes off their first round score and concluded the Terrier Intercollegiate with a 635 (322-313).
Paksanont is the first women's golfer since 2014-15 to record back-to-back finishes of tenth or better when Rachel Reiling placed sixth and tied for eighth at the Terrier Intercollegiate and Winthrop Invitational to finish the fall campaign. The freshman posted her second straight round of 77 and finished at 154 (77-77) for the tournament. Paksanont wrapped up play tied for third in par 3 scoring at even-par and was tied for seventh with 23 pars.
"I am very proud of the effort we showed today," said head coach Todd Lawton. "The hole locations were tougher and the green speeds went up which is always tough. We have made some good progress. Pan has been very steady and has led us well. Anna's consistency and Payton's play today were key to a good round as well."
Payton Culler compiled the lowest round of the day for Upstate after shooting a 76, leading to a 37th place performance at 160 (84-76). Culler ended the two-day tournament tied for seventh with four birdies.

The freshman finished in the top-10 for two individual categories as she was tied for fourth with 24 pars and tied for tenth in par 4 scoring with a stroke average of 4.25.
