Culler Ties for 21st Place at the Low Country Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, S.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team concluded play at the Low Country Intercollegiate on Sunday by finishing in 17th place after shooting a final round 318 from the par-72, 5,922-yard Moss Creek Golf Club – South Course.
Upstate cut 17 strokes off its first round score from Saturday and ended the two-day tournament with a team score of 653 (335-318).
Payton Culler led the Spartans individually as the sophomore placed just outside the top 20 in a tie for 21st position. Culler was one of four players to wrap up tournament play in 21st place following her second straight 78 to finish at 156.
Sidney Dermody carded the lowest round of the weekend on Sunday following a second round 75, improving her first day score by eight strokes. Dermody was tied for 33rd with a two-round 158 (83-75).
Allea Hawkins fired a final round 82 to post the third-highest finish for Upstate, tying for 70th at 166 (84-82). Allie Gennaula and Malika Allie rounded out the tournament for the Spartans in 87th and 91st place. Gennaula improved her score the most of any Upstate golfer with an 83 to finish at 177 (94-83), while Allie had a two-day score of 185 (90-95).
Bethune-Cookman held off Chattanooga by three strokes to win the Low Country Intercollegiate with a 611. Sasha Banks of Brown captured individual medalist honors with a 2-over 146.
The Spartans return to action Apr. 3-4 at the App State Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C.
