
Culler Posts First Career Top-Ten Finish at Seminole State Spring Break

Lake Mary, Fla. – Payton Culler carded a final round 77 to finish in a tie for eighth place to lead the USC Upstate women's golf team on Wednesday during the final round of the Seminole State Spring Break from Timacuan Golf and Country Club.
Upstate finished the tournament in fifth place, its best of the season, with a team score of 661 following a round of 332 on Wednesday. Host Seminole State won the event after shooting a 612, finishing 11 strokes ahead of second place Florida Atlantic.
Seminole State's Josefine Garton won individual medalist honors after holding off teammate Cynthia Bounleutay by seven strokes at 146.
Culler recorded the best finish of her career, as well as first top-10, highlighted by the final round 77. For the tournament, Culler posted a combined score of 158 (81-77). Sidney Dermody also compiled her best finish of the season after placing in a tie for 14th following a two-day 161 (77-84).
Malika Allie concluded the tournament alone in 27th position with a score of 169 (84-85), while Allea Hawkins tied for 33rd at 174 (88-86). Allie Gennaula rounded out the tournament for the Spartans in a tie for 36th place with a 175 (87-88) score over the two rounds.
Playing as an individual, Kinsey Soniat finished 32nd with a two-round 173 (86-87).
Upstate is back in action Mar. 19-20 at the Low Country Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.
