
Upstate Continues Conference Play this Week against Lipscomb, Kennesaw State

Spartanburg, S.C. – The USC Upstate men's tennis team remains in conference play this week as the Spartans are set to travel to Lipscomb on Thursday before hosting Kennesaw State in their final home match of the regular season on Saturday.
Upstate will face Lipscomb Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. from Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center and hosts Kennesaw State at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon from the USC Upstate Tennis Complex. Saturday is also Senior Day for the Spartans as they will honor Rajanvir Dharni, Ramon Simonetti and Jamie Yates prior to the match.
Upstate (5-12, 1-2) is coming off a 6-1 road loss last Sunday at Florida Gulf Coast. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday evening, but was halted after doubles play due to weather. Simonetti earned a win in singles action as the senior defeated Ricky Ventura in three sets at the number one match.
Lipscomb (6-9, 0-3) has dropped three matches in a row heading into the Thursday matchup. The Bisons are currently tied for fifth in the conference standings with both NJIT and Kennesaw State. The Owls (8-7, 0-3), who have lost five straight matches, will face NJIT at 2 p.m. on Thursday before traveling to Spartanburg.
The Spartans conclude their regular season on Saturday, April 16 with a 10 a.m. match at NJIT.
