Upstate Concludes Play at Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

Greenville, N.C. – The USC Upstate women's golf team carded a final round 312 to finish in 15th place as the Spartans wrapped up play at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Tuesday from the par 72, 6012-yard Greenville Country Club.
Upstate counted scores of 72 from Pan Paksanont, 79 each from Payton Culler and Anna Chanthaphaeng, and 82 from Sidney Dermody and Caroline Heustess. The Spartans finished the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate with a combined score of 938 following the third round 312.
Host school East Carolina won the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate by 28 strokes after finishing the two-day tournament with an 880 (298-297-285). On the individual leaderboard, Morehead State's Anna Magnusson held off Danielle Fuss of High Point by one stroke after finishing at 4-under 212.
Paksanont was the top Upstate finisher in the tournament with the freshman claiming a tie for 24th place after tallying a score of 228 (77-79-72). The 72 carded by Paksanont on Tuesday ties her career-low round. Dermody earned a finish of tied for 41st with a 233 (72-79-82) total, followed by Culler who tied for 60th place at 238 (75-84-79). Chanthaphaeng was one stroke behind Culler with a 239 (79-81-79), good enough to place in a tie for 63rd position. Heustess registered a showing of tied for 88th after posting a score of 248 (82-84-82).
The Spartans are back in action Oct. 3-4 at the Jacksonville Classic from Marsh Landing Country Club.
