Paksanont Stands Tied for Sixth at Jacksonville Classic

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – Sophomore Pan Paksanont carded consecutive scores of 73 to sit in a tie for sixth place to lead the USC Upstate women's golf team on Monday following opening day action of the Jacksonville Classic from the par 72, 5,988-yard Marsh Landing Country Club.

As a team, Upstate is tied for ninth place with Stetson after rounds of 305 and 304 for a combined score of 609. A total of nine strokes separate it from Georgia State in third place.

Host Jacksonville is in first place of the team standings after day one with a team score of 592 (306-286). Jacksonville's Michelle Forsland leads teammate Amanda Detmer by one stroke on the individual leaderboard at 2-under 142.

A LOOK AT THE SCORECARD

Paksanont finished her first two rounds with a score 146 and Brooke Hutto is second-highest performer in a tie for 24^th place at 152 (77-75).
The Spartans lead the Jacksonville Classic in par 3 scoring with a 3.20 stroke average and are fourth in par 4 scoring at 4.20.
Upstate also has a 5.53 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
The Spartans are fourth among the tournament field with 110 pars while contributing 15 birdies.
Upstate golfers posted scores in the 70's during nine of its ten rounds on Monday.
Anna Chanthaphaeng is among the top players on par 3 holes with a 1-under 2.88 stroke average.
Paksanont and Hutto are tied for the team-lead in par 4 scoring with a 4.05 stroke average.
Paksanont is even-par in par 5 scoring with a 5.00 stroke average and leads the team after tallying 24 pars.
Hutto ranks first on the team with five birdies while Paksanont carded four.
