Paksanont Scores First Career Top-5 Finish at Jacksonville Classic

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – The USC Upstate women's golf team carded a final round 310 on Tuesday, while Pan Paksanont recorded her first career top-5 finish, as the Spartans wrapped up play at the Jacksonville Classic from the par 72, 5,988-yard Marsh Landing Country Club.

Upstate moved up two spots in the team standings and finished in a tie for seventh place with Georgia State at 919 (305-304-310).

Host Jacksonville won the Jacksonville Classic by nine strokes over Seminole State with a team score of 888. Jacksonville's Amanda Detmer and Michelle Forsland tied first on the individual leaderboard at 1-under 215 to earn co-medalist honors.

A LOOK AT THE SCORECARD

Paksanont had a final round 74 to post the best finish of her career at tied for fourth with a combined score of 220 (73-73-74).
Paksanont was followed on the leaderboard by Brooke Hutto (T-22^nd), Anna Chanthaphaeng (T-43^rd), Payton Culler (T-43^rd) and Sidney Dermody (T-64^th).
Hutto compiled the best finish of her Spartan career at tied for 22^nd place following her second score of 77 during the tournament.
Upstate concluded play at the Jacksonville Classic second among the field in par 3 scoring with a 3.25 stroke average and fourth in par 4 scoring at 4.27.
The Spartans also finished with a 5.43 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
Upstate ranked fourth at the tournament with 163 pars and contributed 20 birdies.
Paksanont led the Spartans with six birdies and 38 pars while also registering a 1-over 3.08 stroke average in par 3 scoring, even-par 5.00 stroke average in par 5 scoring and 4.10 stroke average in par 4 scoring.
Chanthaphaeng tied Paksanont for the team-lead in par 3 scoring with a 1-over 3.08 stroke average.
Hutto added a 4.17 stroke average in par 4 scoring and Culler tallied 35 pars.
