Spartanburg, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs claimed a 10-5 win over USC Upstate in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Harley Park.

Gardner-Webb improves to 12-14 while Upstate drops to 13-15

Scoring Breakdown

Top 1^st – Gardner-Webb opened the game with three consecutive singles with a run scoring on a Corey Howard base hit. Upstate limited the damage to one run thanks to a double play and a strikeout.
Bottom 2^nd – J.J. Shimko led off the inning with a triple and scored on a Drake Harris groundout. Following a Russell Schwertfeger single and a walk, Pat Raiff drove in two runs with a two-out double before scoring on a Hunter Gilbert single for a 4-1 Upstate lead.
Top 3^rd – Paul Trick reached on a leadoff single and scored on a Howard single.
Top 4^th – Chandler Redmond opened the inning with a single and scored to cut the Upstate lead to 4-3.
