Paksanont Tied for Fourth after First Day of Low Country Intercollegiate

Hilton Head, S.C. – Pan Paksanont and Marley DeFreitas, playing as an individual, carded opening round scores of 75 as the USC Upstate women's golf team is in sixth place following day one action at the Low Country Intercollegiate from the par 72, 5901-yard Moss Creek Golf Club.
USC Upstate posted a first round score of 313 and is in sixth place out of 14 teams. The Spartans are six strokes behind Albany in second place.
Seton Hall leads the Low Country Intercollegiate after day one at 299 while Cassie Pantelas is atop the individual leaderboard by one stroke at even-par 72.
A LOOK AT THE SCORECARD
- The Spartans have three players currently sitting 10th or better in the individual standings including Paksanont, DeFreitas and Payton Culler.
- Paksanont is the top individual performer for USC Upstate with her 3-over 75 and is three strokes back of Pantelas in a tie for fourth place.
- DeFreitas, playing as an individual, carded a career-low round of 75 and is also tied for fourth place.
- Culler posted an opening round 76 and presently sits tied for eighth place.
- Anna Chanthaphaeng and Brooke Hutto are both tied for 39th place after shooting identical rounds of 81.
- Sidney Dermody rounds out the leaderboard for the Spartans tied for 47th place at 82.
- Caroline Heustess, also playing as an individual, is tied for 65th with an 88.
- USC Upstate finished the first round tied for third among the tournament field in pars (50), fourth in par 4 scoring (4.38 stroke average), tied for fourth in birdies (7) and tied for fifth in par 3 scoring (3.30 stroke average).
- The Spartans also tallied a 5.50 stroke average in par 5 scoring.
- Paksanont leads the Low Country Intercollegiate in par 3 scoring at 2-under with a 2.50 stroke average.
- Hutto ranks first after totaling 13 pars.
- DeFreitas is tied for first place in par 4 scoring at 1-under and a 3.90 stroke average.
- Paksanont sits tied for fourth with three birdies.
- Paksanont, Dermody and Chanthaphaeng all lead the team in par 5 scoring at 1-over with a 5.25 stroke average.
- Along with the three birdies by Paksanont, Culler and DeFreitas have both contributed two, and Dermody and Chanthaphaeng one each.
