Nashville, Tenn. – The USC Upstate baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision to Lipscomb on Saturday at Ken Dugan Field.

Lipscomb improves to 18-23 overall and 6-8 in the ASUN Conference while USC Upstate drops to 21-24-1 and 4-10.

Scoring Breakdown

Bottom 1^st – The Bisons got on the board thanks to a sacrifice fly.
Bottom 3^rd – Zeke Dodson's sacrifice fly scored the second run of the game for the Bisons. Jake Perry followed Dodson with a two-run home run for a 4-0 Lipscomb lead.
Top 5^th – Chris Rodriguez scored on a two-out Charlie Carpenter single to get USC Upstate on the board. Kyle Gensler followed with a base hit that scored Pat Raiff.
Bottom 5^th – The Bisons scored one run on a Tevin Symonette single and two runs on an Allan Hooker single.
Top 6^th – Will Hardigree reached on a one-out double and advanced to third on a Mason Stewart single. Hardigree scored thanks to a single by Chris Rodriguez.
Top 9^th – Russell Schwertfeger reached on a one-out single. After advancing to second, Schwertfeger scored on Hardigree's second double of the game.

Notables

Carpenter went 3-for-5 with three singles and an RBI.
Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with two singles, a run scored and an RBI.
Hardigree went 2-for-5 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
Gensler went 1-for-3 with a single and an RBI.
Symonette went 3-for-4 with three singles, an RBI and a run scored.
Dodson finished 2-for-3 with two singles and an RBI.
Perry went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI.
USC Upstate left 13 baserunners while Lipscomb stranded five baserunners.
Chris Kachmar (3-3) earned the win, allowing two runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 5.0 innings.
Jordan Marks (2-6) took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits with two walks and a strikeout in 3.0 innings.
