Series History
Friday's meeting between USC Upstate and Charlotte marks the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams in a series that began in 2013. The 49ers lead the series two wins to one, taking the first meeting in 2013 and the previous meeting in 2019. The Spartans captured their lone victory in the series, a 108-103 victory in 2016.

Players to Watch
Upstate: Scoring a game-high 20 points against South Carolina, senior forward Bryson Mozone headlined a group of three double-figure scorers for the Spartans. The game marked his fourth career 20-point game, giving him one in each of his four seasons in an Upstate uniform and the fourth-highest scoring output by a Big South player. Mozone drained a game-high four three-pointers in the game while also tying a career-high with two blocks.
Charlotte: Leading the 49ers against Monmouth, Clemson transfer Clyde Trapp represented Charlotte's leading scorer in its season opener. He finished 6-of-12 from the floor, hitting 3-of-7 from behind the arc while hitting 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Trapp also added three rebounds and a team-high three steals.
UP Next for Spartans
After opening the season with a pair of road games, the Spartans return to the Hodge for the first time this season Monday. Upstate hosts St. Andrews (N.C.) on November 15 at 7 p.m. ET, hosting "Salute to Service" night.
