SPARTANBURG, S.C. – USC Upstate head women's soccer coach
Tyson John and staff have announced the addition of six members to the 2021 Spartan roster.
"We are very excited to add these six young ladies to our program! They all possess the dedication, drive, and ambition required to play a role in the success of Upstate women's soccer. We look forward to working with Rachel, Kay-Lynn, Reece, Marie, Anna, and Madi as they embark on the next chapter of their lives as Spartans!" said USC Upstate head coach

Rachel Marriott, a 5-9 defender, comes to Upstate from Oakville, Ontario, Canada where she attended Saint Thomas Aquinas CSS High School. Marriot was the Junior Athlete of the Year and won the Raiders Award winner for girls' soccer. During her club career at Oakville Soccer Club, she helped her team win the 2020 Ontario Winter games.
Kay-Lynn McCall joins the #SpartanArmy from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada where she attended Grand River Collegiate Institute. The 5-5 center midfielder was a two-time Coaches Award Winner, Outstanding Contributions to Athletics award winner, and a two-time WCSSAA Region Champion. McCall was a Team Captain her junior and senior years.
Reece Murphee, a 5-8 midfielder, hails from Six Mile, S.C., and attended D.W. Daniel High School. During her time with Lions, she was named All-State, Region Player of the Year, Southeast All-American, and earned the Freshman Grit Award. Murphee had 24 goals, 34 assists, and led her team with 82 points, helping them to a 2021 Region Championship and Upper State Championship.
Marie Listenbee is a 5-3 defender from Loganville, Ga. She attended Grayson High School and was a Region Champion, a 2020 UGA Certificate of Merit Recipient, and graduated with honors. Linstenbee was a captain of her club team, helping to win the conference championship.
Anna Shelton is a 5-9 goalkeeper from Covington, Ga.
She attended Eastside High School and was the Most Valuable Player her sophomore year. In addition, Shelton was named to All-Region teams her sophomore and junior years.
Madi Murray, a 5-5 defender, joins Upstate from Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte, N.C. Murray played for Charlotte Soccer Academy where she was the 2020 Charlotte Soccer Gala Girl's Club Team of the Year, 2020-21 Champions of the ECNL Regional Carolinas, and team captain.
