Numerous Program Top-Five Totals Posted as Women's Golf Claims Runner-Up Finish at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

MORGANTON, N.C. – For the first time this season and the first time since last season's Big South Championship, USC Upstate women's golf posted three sub-300 team rounds to earn the team's second straight runner-up finish as play concluded at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon.

Carding the team's 12^th, 13^th, and 14^th sub-300 rounds of the year, Upstate made the 2022 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate one of the top events in program history. Fashioning a team 54-hole total of 877, the Spartans' total marks the second-lowest event score in program history and the lowest of the 2022 season. The team's second-round 285 tied for the team's lowest round of the season while tying for the second-lowest team round in program history.

En route to the team's runner-up finish, three Spartans claimed top-10 placements as redshirt junior Beem Pabsimma, redshirt sophomore Preaw Nontarux, and redshirt junior Kathryn Elliott finished second, sixth, and ninth in the tournament field.

Pabsimma carded two of the team's four rounds under-par as she fashioned scores of 68-71-72-211 as her 54-hole total marked her lowest of the season while tying for the second-lowest individual 54-hole total in program history. Recording the other two rounds under-par, Nontarux and Elliott wrote in scores of 71-72-75-218 and 78-68-75-221, respectively.

Each carding a 68 at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate, Pabsimma and Eliott tied the lowest individual round of the season by a Spartan. The rounds also tied for the fifth-lowest individual rounds in program history while Elliott's round marked a career-low and her first sub-70 round.
