Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Second Half Heroics Gives Upstate the Edge Over Presbyterian

CLINTON, S.C.– Upstate Men's Soccer was on the road again, making the short trip to Presbyterian College. The Spartans put up just seven shots but pulled out the 2-1 victory against the Blue Hose.

The Spartans got on the board first, just six minutes into play off a penalty kick goal scored by Adrian Panaite. Upstate held the advantage for the next 20 minutes of play, until the Blue Hose capitalized on a penalty kick to even the match. Headed into the half, the score would remain 1-1. Out of the halftime break, the Spartans continued to battle, but it wasn't until the 86th minute that Shayne Abrams found the back of the net for the go-ahead goal.

Goalkeeper Cooper Jennings made three crucial saves in the win. Adrian Panaite and Shayne Abrams each finished the night with two shots, one being on goal. Fabian Dietrich, Dario Stadler, and Liam Duggan all added a shot of their own. The Spartans backline was also pivotal in the win, with Elijah Jackson, Carson Hickok, and Daniel Busby playing all 90 minutes of the match.
