How It Happened
First Quarter
- Opening the game, Kansas State fashioned a game-long 25-0 scoring run. Snapping the Wildcat run, Gwen Jenkins knocked down a pull-up jumper from the elbow, going coast-to-coast after Vera Soderblom poked away a steal on the defensive end.
Second Quarter
- Ending a Wildcat scoring run that spanned the quarter break, Upstate crafted the first of its longest scoring stretches as Ava Miller and AC Markham went back-to-back with long jumpers. The Spartans knocked down three additional field goals in the quarter. Olivia Forster, Gracie Barnes, and Markham hit the field goals with Forster's the Spartans' lone three.
Third Quarter
- Kansas State opened the new half reeling off a 16-0 scoring run, however, the Spartans held the Wildcats without a field goal for nearly three minutes in the quarter. Jeni Levine ended the run with a free throw before a layup from Miller and free throws from Markham crafted the Spartans' other scoring run. Miller added three additional points in the quarter, earning and converting a traditional three-point play.
Fourth Quarter
- Snapping a nine-point scoring run from the Wildcats, Zora Fray-Chinn knocked down a layup to secure her first points of the night. Kansas State closed the game on a 24-0 scoring run.
