BURLINGTON, NC -- Upstate women's golf heads north for their third tournament of the fall season to compete at the Elon Invitational. The Spartans will look to get back on track after slipping two spots in the final round at last week's Golfweek Fall Challenge.
Last year, the Spartans opened up their fall season at the invite, but this year, they came in with two tournaments under their belt. The lineup last year produced a strong card, producing a program-low 54-hole team scoring total, seeing each member of the team's five-player lineup finish within 10 strokes of one another. Supatta Puttanavarat posted the third-lowest 54-hole scoring total by a freshman in program history, carding marks of 72-68-76-216 to place fourth at the event, while Madison Dixon had a top-25 finish.

About The Course:
Alamance Country Club's 18-hole championship golf course, originally designed by renowned architect Donald Ross, offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for golfers of all skill levels. As the home course for Elon University, the course maintains a timeless design while incorporating modern updates. In the late 1990s, Bob Cupp led a restoration to preserve Ross's signature greens and bunkers while extending the course to nearly 6,900 yards, blending classic architecture with contemporary playability.
The course features a variety of challenging holes, including the par-4 No. 1 handicap hole, a 460-yard test of both distance and precision. A blind tee shot and one of the largest greens on the property make this hole particularly demanding. Players will also face the 200-yard par-3 No. 8, where a fronting bunker prevents any attempt to run the ball onto the green.
One of the most formidable stretches arrives early, highlighted by the longest hole on the course, the 534-yard par-5 No. 6. This hole's sharp dogleg and strategically placed bunkers, paired with an uphill tee shot, present a true challenge for those seeking eagle opportunities.
